Brewers, magazine contest offers Michigan trip
Sunday, February 28, 2010

Four Michigan craft brewers and a publication are collaborating on a beer and a contest that offers a "night of passion" at a Traverse City, Mich.-area resort.

If you're up north, as they say, you can get a chance to win at each of the brewpubs that is making its own version of the draft "MyNorth Passion Brew" -- Jolly Pumpkin/Northern United Brewing Co., Right Brain Brewery, North Peak Brewing and Short's Brewing Co. You also may enter, from anywhere, at MyNorth.com, the website of Traverse Magazine.

Proceeds from sales of the beer, described as "a warm winter brown ale," will benefit the Father Fred Foundation, a nondenominational charity providing food and other help to families and individuals in the five-county Grand Traverse region.

Through Monday, people may enter to win their choice of two one-night stays that will be awarded: in a penthouse suite at Tamarack Lodge and in a suite at Cherry Tree Inn & Suites, both on East Grand Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan, where brewpubs are an important part of the tourism industry.
