I am being more frugal, but I decided that if I do spend, I will spend as much as possible on local businesses to help keep the local business community afloat. The money will more likely stay in my community, and I feel good about that. I would choose a locally owned restaurant rather than a chain, or the local grocery store instead of Wal-Mart.
