Visit Waynesburg University

Waynesburg University will host fall visitation days for transfer students, high school students and their families tomorrow, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1.

Each day will offer presentations on admissions and financial aid procedures, a tour of the campus and an opportunity to meet faculty, current students and coaches. Students and families will be served a complimentary lunch in the newly renovated Benedum Dining Hall.

Mon Valley Transit schedule

The Mon Valley Transit Center and the agency offices will be closed tomorrow in observance of Columbus Day. All bus routes will operate on normal schedules.

On Saturday, the Route B and Silver Line buses will operate on a detour because of the California University of Pennsylvania homecoming.

Discolored water alert

Pennsylvania American Water will flush its distribution system in Avella and West Middletown tomorrow through Nov. 7.

The three-week project will be conducted between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Crews will open fire hydrants and allow them to flow freely for a short period to flush sediments from water mains and verify that fire hydrants and valves are working properly.

Temporary service disruptions may include discolored water. According to the utility, no health hazard is associated with the discolored water.
