Canon-McMillan junior Taylor Schram set the school goal-scoring record for the girls' soccer program last week. With one regular-season match left to play tomorrow night against Trinity, she has 89 for her career and 32 this season.
The Canonsburg General Hospital Ambulance Service recently purchased a new medivan with a $10,000 gift from the hospital's Women's Auxiliary and donations from the community.
The free medivan service is available to patients who need testing or surgery at Canonsburg General Hospital and have no transportation alternatives. To schedule transportation, call 724-745-6911.
The Residence at Hilltop in Carroll recently presented a donation of $619 to The Charles L. and Rose Sweeny Melenyzer Pavilion and Regional Cancer Center at Mon Valley Hospital.
The donation will be used by the Cancer Center for its charitable programs that benefit patients and services at the MVH Cancer Center.
The Residence at Hilltop held a Classic Car Cruise in August to generate funds for the donation.
The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is offering trolley rides to its Halloween Pumpkin Patch and to the Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts Christmas Festival at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
The pumpkin patch is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and next Sunday and Oct. 24-26. Children may choose a pumpkin and decorate it. Trolley rides leave every half hour. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (62+), $5 for children (ages 3-15) and ages 2 and younger are free.
In addition, there will be special service to the Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts Christmas Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday to next Sunday and Oct. 25-26. For $2 per person, festivalgoers can park in the museum lot and ride a trolley to the fairgrounds or get on the trolley at the fairgrounds platform, near the fair entrance, and go for a ride. Museum and festival admission is extra.
From Interstate 79 or Route 19, turn onto Racetrack Road and follow the signs approximately 3 miles to the museum in Chartiers.

Waynesburg University held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 27 for its new residence hall, a nursing simulation lab and a marine biology lab.
The six-floor residence hall houses 140 students in 70 rooms, each with a private bathroom.
The state-of-the-art simulation lab offers students the opportunity to experience complex patient care in simulated situations. The lab has eight patient rooms, each with audio-video digital recording.
In the marine lab, the available work space has roughly doubled in size. Students will have increased experiment and observation space to study a variety of marine life.
Funding for the nursing simulation and marine biology labs was secured through grants from the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
