Saturday, October 11, 2008

A Greensburg woman was killed Thursday in a traffic crash in Hempfield, state police said.

Jean E. Pelerose, 85, was a passenger in a car driven by Harry Bee, 86, of Hunker, when the car crashed at 2:45 p.m.

Mr. Bee was traveling west on Pellis Road, just east of Santone Drive, when he lost control of the vehicle, police said.

The car left the road, traveled about 100 yards along the berm and struck a tree.

Ms. Pelerose was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Dennis Johns.

State police are investigating.
