Nerf blaster guns

Hasbro is recalling about 330,000 Nerf™ N-Strike Recon Blasters. The toy's plunger can pull the user's skin during firing of the toy blaster resulting in injury to the face, neck, and/or chest.

This recall involves Nerf N-Strike Recon CS-6 Blasters for children age 6 and up. The toy blasters are yellow with a black handle and orange plunger, trigger, and reload clip. The word "NERF" in black lettering is on both sides of the blaster and the word "ARMED" is indented on the orange plunger. "RECON CS-6" is on the gray cocking mechanism. There are five interchangeable parts including the shoulder stock, the flip-up sight, barrel extension, quick re-load clip and dual-mode light beam. Model number 63552 and UPC codes 653569272021 and 653569311218 can be found on the packaging. Only blasters with an exposed orange plunger are included in this recall.

Wal-Mart, Target, Toys "R" Us, discount stores and toy stores nationwide from November 2007 through August 2008 for about $20.

Necklaces, music players


Tween Brands Inc. is recalling about 12,000 children's necklaces, CD players and MP3 players sold at Limited Too and Justice stores. Surface coatings on these products could contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

This recall involves a ball and heart necklace with pink beads of varying sizes and a pink heart located in the center; a portable CD player with flowers and dots available in blue and pink; a pink MP3 player with purple, green, blue, yellow, and red hearts; and a light blue MP3 player with a picture of a monkey's face on the front.

Limited Too and Justice retail stores, the Limited Too catalog, and the Web site limitedtoo.com sold the items from May 2007 through August 2008. The ball and heart necklace sold for about $8, the portable CD players sold for about $25, and the MP3 Players sold for about $55.

Consumers should return the products to any Limited Too or Justice store for a full refund and a coupon for a 15% discount off a future purchase.

Rechargeable batteries

Coby Electronics is recalling about 13,000 rechargeable Batteries sold with portable DVD/CD/MP3 players. The rechargeable batteries can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

This recall involves batteries with TF-DVD 1020 portable DVD/CD/MP3 players. The battery's serial number can be found on a white sticker affixed to it. The product looks like a small laptop computer and has a 10" swivel TV screen. "COBY" is written on the front cover and under the screen. "TF-DVD 1020" can be found on the bottom of the unit. Consumers should contact Coby to arrange for a free replacement battery. After removing the recalled batteries from the unit, consumers can continue to use it with the AC or DC power adapter. Girls' sandals

Rack Room Shoes is recalling about 11,000 pairs of girls' sandals. The ornamental flowers on the sandals can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

The recalled girls' sandals are leather with attached leather flowers and were sold under the Kids Feet name. The sandals are white or white with pink soles. The sandals were sold in girls' sizes 5 through 12.

Rack Room Shoes stores nationwide sold the sandals from February 2008 through June 2008 for about $25.
