Q: Ed, do you think that the Steelers could find a way to get Dennis Dixon's athletic ability on the field? He looked way too good at Oregon to not be developing on the field. I know he's not going to take Ben's job, but I think they're wasting him.
Paul Oakes, Youngstown, Ohio
BOUCHETTE: Dixon, a fifth-round draft choice this year, has been the team's designated No. 3 quarterback through the first five games. That means he could not play until the fourth quarter of a game. If he played before then, the other two quarterbacks could not re-enter the game. There was talk when they drafted him that he could be the No. 2 quarterback in a game, and used as you mentioned, taking a snap or so in certain situations that would benefit from his threat to run. I suppose that's still a possibility. If they did that, Byron Leftwich, as the No. 3 quarterback, would still enter the game if Ben Roethlisberger were injured.
