Elizabeth Forward teacher accused of sex with student
Thursday, October 02, 2008

An Elizabeth Forward High School teacher has been arrested after a female former student alleged that sexual activity took place at school in 2003-04.

Brian Brosh, 40, was charged with endangering the welfare of children, sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and corruption of minors. He turned himself in on Monday, and school Superintendent Michael Latusek sent a letter to parents Tuesday.

According to the police criminal complaint, the girl, then a 16-year-old high school junior, was a student in Mr. Brosh's physical science class. After they began talking about personal issues, Mr. Brosh stocked food she liked in a school refrigerator, wrote passes for her to leave other classes and hang out in his room and gave her access to his computer, on which she raised her grade.

After four to six months, they began kissing and the relationship became "increasingly sexual," according to the complaint.

Mr. Brosh was suspended from teaching Sept. 8 after the district became aware of the investigation. A hearing is set for Wednesday.
