Want to commune with nature? Get off your duff and head to Murrysville.
BioBlitz will take place at Duff Park from 6 p.m. tomorrow through 6 p.m. Saturday.
Science professionals and the public will get together to identify as many living organisms as possible in Duff Park.
Professors and students from Duquesne University, staff members of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and area ornithologists and naturalists will share their expertise. Experts will demonstrate humane trapping of mammals, aquatic sampling and binocular observation of birds, among other things.
Events will include a twilight walk starting at 7:30 tomorrow and nature tours Saturday beginning at 9 a.m., noon, and 1, 2 and 4 p.m.
Saturday's schedule also will feature Learning about Turtle Creek and its watershed, 10 a.m.; fish sampling, 11 a.m.; and motion-activated wildlife photography, 3 p.m.
The event is sponsored by Friends of Murrysville Parks and Duquesne University's Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences.
