CLASSES

Hempfield -- Westmoreland County Community College is accepting applications through Oct. 10 for its Municipal Police Officer Training Academy, which will begin in January in the Business and Technology Center on its Youngwood campus, 400 Ambrust Road. FUNDRAISING

Edgewood -- The C.C. Mellor Memorial Library, located at the Edgewood Club, 1 Pennwood Ave., will hold a Wine and Chocolate Affaire at 7 p.m. Oct. 4. The evening also will include hors d'oeuvres and premium beers, works from East End artists, performances by quartets from the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra and a silent auction. Hempfield -- The newly formed Pavilion Players of Westmoreland County Community College will hold auditions for two upcoming productions at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Science Hall Theater on its Youngwood campus, 400 Ambrust Road. For the December production of "The Shepherd," male and female children ages 10 to 15 are needed for 10 musical roles; men and women age 16 and older for 10 to 12 roles; and one man 55 or older for a nonmusical role.
