A 49-year-old man died last night when his motorcycle ran off Route 4030 in Bedford County and hit a tree.

State Police said Melvin C. Ginlesperger of Croydon, Bucks County, died when his 200 cc Honda dirt bike hit some gravel and slid off the road into a tree in Lincoln Township.

Police said Mr. Ginlesperger was not wearing a helmet.

He was pronounced dead at the scen by the Bedford County coroner's office.
