The "Dark Knight" premiered Monday night in New York City and word is Heath Ledger delivered a tour de force performance.
The New York Daily News reports that co-stars Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Morgan Freeman paid homage to the late actor on the red carpet and that Mr. Caine touted Heath as an Oscar contender.
"If he were alive, this would have blown him into the stratosphere," Sir Michael said.
Co-star Christian Bale said, "[Heath's] the best thing about the movie."
The late star also was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain."
Although his parents did not walk the red carpet, they attended the screening and naturally were quite proud of their boy.
Heath's "Brokeback Mountain" co-star and good buddy Jake Gyllenhaal is said to be enjoying domestic life with Reese Witherspoon, including the rules Reese has put down.
For example, Jake has to take off his shoes when he's in the house, according to an article in Star magazine. Another thing he can't do is swear like a sailor, which he reportedly used to do before moving in with Reese and her two children, Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4.
Sounds like now that she has domesticated her man the couple might be ready to walk down the aisle soon.
Is Paris Hilton trying to have a baby with boyfriend Benji Madden?
You know we don't know, but good Lord we hope not!
Page Six reports that the "reformed" socialite (remember all that charity work she was going to do when she was released from jail?) has said she would love to start a family with Benji.
Word is she resents all the attention former BFF Nicole Richie is receiving now that she has given birth to baby Harlow. And, as you know, Benji is the twin brother of Joel Madden, who is Harlow's daddy.
"She's jealous of all the attention Nicole Richie has been getting and knows she's fallen off in the [tabloids] lately," a source tells Page Six. "A baby would put her back in the news."
We hope this isn't true because this is some really pathetic mess!
Who's House?
Run's House.
Rev. Run of Run DMC fame and his family return to MTV's lineup tonight with their series, "Run's House."
We love this show because it's not about whining, snotty, bratty celebrities and their equally obnoxious children.
It's about everyday family life, with the added element of fame, and Rev. Run's always got a lesson to teach.
So check out Rev. Run, his wife, Justine, and children, Diggy, Russ, Jo Jo, fashionistas Angela and Vanessa, and baby Miley Justine at 10 tonight.
On the other end of the reality family spectrum is "Meet the Kardashians," the E! show built on the fame of daughter Kim's largest asset.
Anyway, the youngest daughter, Khloe, is heading to jail for a 30-day stint after admitting July 3 that she violated her probation, reports The Associated Press.
Seems Ms. Kardashian had been arrested for DUI in 2007.
In addition to doing time, Khloe, 23, will have to enroll in an alcohol treatment program, which she was supposed to do under her probation.
"Khloe is ready and willing to serve out her sentence, no matter how long and where, and have this resolved," her publicist said.
The best way to resolve everything is to stop drinking and driving.
Just in case anyone cares, 'cause we know we don't, comedian Sarah Silverman and late-night talker Jimmy Kimmel are no longer a couple.
Guess Ben Affleck will be leaving Jennifer Garner any minute now.
Opinion divas L.A. Johnson and Monica Haynes go there on everything from politics, news, celebs, scandals, etc.
