Port Authority will provide special service to the Wings Over Pittsburgh event at Pittsburgh International Airport today and tomorrow.
The 28A Wings Over Pittsburgh Flyer will provide service between Downtown and the event for a one-way fare of $2.60.
Between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. both days, the 28A will operate every 15 minutes from Penn Station on the Martin Luther King Jr. East Busway and serve the following stops: Grant Street at Federal Building; Seventh Avenue at Smithfield Street; along Liberty Avenue at 10th Street, Seventh Street, Sixth Street and Fifth Avenue; Penn Avenue at Stanwix Street; West Carson Street at the Duquesne Incline; and all West Busway stops except Carnegie Station.
Customers wishing to park at Carnegie Station on the West Busway can board any inbound 33X West Busway-All Stops bus and should tell the operator they are going to the Wings Over Pittsburgh event. They will be discharged free of charge at Bell Avenue Station, where they can access 28A service. On the return trip, those customers should ask for a free transfer that will enable them to board outbound 33X service at Bell Avenue Station for their return trip to Carnegie Station.
The last trip to the event will leave Penn Station at 1 p.m. both days. Return service from the event will operate from 9 a.m. through 12:45 p.m. each day, then resume at 5 p.m.
