A new season of "Big Brother" premiered this week, and CBS has given the game a romantic twist. "Big Brother" is playing matchmaker in season nine, as the single HouseGuests are paired with their perfect matches, based on compatibility tests. The soulmate duos will compete in challenges together, win Head of Household together, share a bed and even get evicted as a couple. In another twist, a few of the HouseGuests know each other.

Sharon and Jacob recently broke up after dating for 12 years. Jen and Ryan are dating, but pair up with other HouseGuests and plan to keep their relationship secret for as long as possible. That strategy doesn't last, though. Jen and Parker win the Power Couple competition, and Parker hears that Ryan's talking trash about him, so he wants to eliminate Ryan and Allison. Jen reveals to Parker that she and Ryan are dating outside the Big Brother house to save him, so Ryan tells his partner, Allison. I think revealing the secret this soon is a bad idea, but it saves Ryan and Allison, as Parker and Jen eliminate Sharon and Jacob, because it was really Jacob who was talking trash about Parker. (Whew! Did you get all that?)

"Big Brother 9: 'Til Death Do You Part" airs Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. on CBS. The racier "Big Brother After Dark" airs on Showtime Too daily from midnight-3 a.m.

After the Hollywood audition round, "American Idol" has its top 24 contestants. As for the girls, I like rocker nurse Amanda Overmyer, 23, who faced the audition round one week after a horrible car accident. Alexandrea Lushington is another favorite. While she doesn't get much airtime this week, I think the quiet, 16-year-old with a soulful voice is one to watch. Finally, Irish-born Carly Smithson is a top contender, but the judges say she has to get over her nerves. Looks like Carly released an album in 2001 on MCA Records, but it was a flop. So she has professional experience -- is that fair in "Idol" competition? If the fans figure that out, it could work against her.

A standout among the guys is sweet David Archuleta, but at 16 is he too young for "Idol"? Australian-born David Johns isn't bad -- his rocker vibe could take him far. I'm not shocked wacky Josiah Leming is out -- his "Stand By Me" audition in Hollywood is a bust and Simon Cowell's right: He's overconfident. Finally, I'm with Simon on Kyle Ensley -- he should have made it to the top 24. While the curly-haired geek isn't the best singer, his positive attitude and infectious personality made me smile. While he may have ended up the next Sanjaya Malakar or Kevin "Chicken Little" Covais, Kyle would have been one to watch, and I'm sad he's not in the finals.

"American Idol" airs Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. on Fox.

Flavor Flav returns to VH1 to look for a new lady on the premiere of "Flavor of Love 3." "This time I'm going to find love or I'm gonna die trying," he promises. He gets to know the 21 women trying to win his heart, and by the end of the first night he sends home five, four of whom are duds the fans voted in on the Internet. "Internet users, like, I said, I thought you all loved Flav. How you going to do that to me, Gs?" Early standouts include Seezinz, who tells Flav she's there for love, not the glitz and the glam of the show. Shy's name doesn't exactly describe her pushy personality. Flav likes her, but she's already causing New York-like drama with Bee-Ex. Twins Thing 1 and Thing 2 are more glamorous than their Dr. Suess namesakes, and Flav says that sitting between them is like listening to an FM stereo. "A for me stereo!" he says.

"Flavor of Love" airs Monday at 9 and 10:30 p.m. on VH1.

On "Paradise Hotel," outcast Tanya gets dates with Ryan and Mike. On Ryan's date, they just talk about making out, but on Mike's date, they get down to business. He even spends the night in her single room, which forces her to give up immunity at elimination. Meanwhile, Raheim and James get into a scary argument by the pool, but the next day, they hug it out and plot to work together. During a stormy elimination ceremony, Krista picks Chelsea's old roommate, James, so Chelsea goes for Ryan, who Lauren had already chosen. Ryan sends Chelsea packing, as she checks out of "Paradise Hotel" forever.

"Paradise Hotel" airs Monday at 9 p.m. on myNetworkTV.

On "Scott Baio is 46... & Pregnant," Scott is mesmerized by his baby girl's face in a 3-D ultrasound, as reality starts to set in. Instead of saving money, he goes to Las Vegas with the guys for a "man shower," where he gets drunk and blows $5,000 on one spin of the roulette wheel. "Lady luck had her way with me, and I needed to get out of there before this trip cost me any more money," he says. Looks like the baby is really on her way in the next show!

"Scott Baio" airs at 11 a.m., 10 p.m. and midnight on VH1.

On "My Fair Brady: Maybe Baby?" Chris and Adrianne spend quality time with their friends' toddlers, prompting them to re-evaluate Adrianne's plastic surgery hopes vs. having kids. Then, Adrianne's dad, Rick, visits, and he and his daughter go to the shooting range while Chris entertains Rick's wife, Nicole. Rick says Adrianne should hold off on the babies until Chris gets his anger management issues under control, while Nicole and Chris think Adrianne is ready for motherhood. So will they be pregnant by season's end? I say yes, because then they can produce another show!

A new "My Fair Brady" airs Feb. 24 at 12:30 and 10:30 p.m. on VH1.

... goes to Sheila and Allison on "Big Brother 9." Sheila's paired up with obnoxious Adam who right off the bat calls her "Ma" because she's 46. She's so repulsed by him that she cries in the diary room. "I told myself I wasn't going to cry. God, it is so horrible!" she says. Indeed he's pretty awful, but she needs to get her head in the game. As for Allison, she gets jealous when her partner, Ryan, reveals his girlfriend outside of the house is Jen, Parker's partner. "Ryan would be better off with someone like me, who's less jealous and catty and needs to be the center of attention," she complains. Like she should talk! Now Allison doesn't trust Ryan. I give it a week before she spills his secret!
