It is no surprise that in 2000, Money Magazine rated us the 11th best city for the arts. The Pittsburgh art scene is extremely popular and it is constantly growing. With the recent addition of the O’Reilly Theater, patrons can now take in a play, musical, ballet, or opera at one of five locations in a 14-block area.
Because of its varied topography and climate, Pittsburgh residents have a wealth of recreation at their fingertips. Rock climbers, skiers, and even spelunkers find everything they need to participate in their favorite pastime in and around the area. There are no fewer than 10 state parks in the Pittsburgh area for nature lovers to enjoy. Point State Park, located in Downtown Pittsburgh, and Ohiopyle State Park, located in Fayette County, each draw nearly 2 million visitors each year.
