PITTSBURGH, March 15, 2007 –
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has named Terry Alvarez Classified Advertising
Manager. Alvarez starts in his new role on April 2, 2007.
Alvarez comes to the Post-Gazette most recently from The East Valley/Scottsdale Tribune in Mesa, Arizona where he was Classified Advertising Director. He also has worked for the Denver Post, the Sioux City Journal and the Arizona Republic in various advertising sales and management positions.
“Terry’s extensive knowledge of the newspaper industry, especially in the classified arena, makes him a great fit for this position. We’re pleased that he’s joining the Post-Gazette and look forward to his contribution here,” said Randall Brant, the Post-Gazette’s Vice President of Advertising.
Alvarez will be responsible for leading all areas of classified advertising for the Post-Gazette, including private party, automotive, real estate and recruitment. He will also interface with the Interactive Media department to build and manage solutions that span print and online.
Alvarez is a graduate of the Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa and the University of Phoenix. He has been an active member of local chambers of commerce as well as newspaper trade organizations.
